Some years ago, the State Electricity Commission of Victoria instigated a major relocation to new head offices.

At this early stage METIER3 were engaged, initially to oversee the financial arrangements of consolidated land purchases. The commission extended to full architectural design, documentation and contract administration.

The brief required a state-of-the-art energy efficient building with quality working spaces and attractive public areas. In response to this brief, METIER3’s design incorporated leading edge technology in the ventilation, electrical and lighting systems, all monitored by a building automation system. This technology was researched and selected according to the basic principle that energy supply would meet, rather than exceed, energy demand.
