This award winning five level office building occupies an inherently narrow area within the Better Business District Office Park, on the site of the former SECV power station, Richmond.

The site presented a number of challenges. From a design viewpoint, the orientation to the west posed thermal problems and the elongated plan necessitated higher fl oor to wall ratio than that typical of commercial projects. Immediate and long-term commercial viability was also essential. The built result demonstrates outstanding architectural and commercial success. The methodical use of conventional construction techniques and detailing contribute to the achievement of the client’s requirements for ample natural light, tenancy fl exibility, building effi ciency and a clear corporate identity. From the upper levels panoramic views towards the city are gained, while at ground level the foyer provides a focal point within the otherwise austere, finely-detailed facade.
